Advertisement Number:20000 Qualifications: The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas: program or project administration; library acquisition, AACR (Anglo American Cataloguing Rules) and MARC records cataloguing, interlibrary loan, physical processing and circulation experience; searching national and international online databases, print catalogues, and other sources for required texts. Successful completion of recognized library and information technology program is required. Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills are required. Effective problem solving skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential. The ability to show initiative, to work independently and as part of a team, to set priorities and to work under pressure to meet deadlines is essential, as is proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of blind/visually impaired and print disabled students’ needs is considered an asset. Preference will be given to Aboriginal people, visible minorities and persons with disabilities. Duties: Reporting to the Coordinator of the Media Production Services Unit, this individual coordinates the acquisition, production and circulation of alternate format texts (audio, braille, large print, electronic) for blind/visually impaired and print disabled post-secondary students and large print texts for K-12 students. This individual serves as the department’s primary contact for students, clients, special needs coordinators, faculty and the Council on Post-Secondary Education (COPSE) that require these services. Maintains and develops a provincial collection of post-secondary alternate format texts. Provides detailed information reports to Senior Management and to COPSE.
