Salary Range: $49,287 - $60,427 per annum
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate requires in-depth knowledge of library procedures and reference services and techniques derived from a Master of Library and Information Science degree or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in delivering library reference services, using current electronic resources and tools; and experience in coaching and training staff and/or clients. Experience in collaborating on establishing and implementing policy, standards, and procedures; experience in promoting library services to clients and stakeholders/partners; and in creating and maintaining library information products including on line is desirable. Significant experience in carrying out research on business and trade related fields is an asset.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a sound grasp of current library technology applications, together with an ability to communicate effectively orally with individuals and groups via multiple service channels; a pro-active client orientation and the ability to foster superior customer service; strong research skills; strong teamwork and team environment skills; demonstrated strong ability to use electronic tools and resources; strong oral and written communication skills; and an ability to foster respectful work relationships and reflect organizational values; a good understanding of current business and trade issues and trends in libraries and information technology; and a good understanding of how to coach and mentor others.

Duties:
The Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre is seeking an individual who can provide in-depth information services for business and trade, government, and general public clients; liaison with specialized business collections; promotion of library services to primary client and stakeholder groups; development and maintenance of library information collateral; and support in the Reference Services team’s use of library technologies. The incumbent serves as a reference/client services librarian, providing a full range of specialized and in-depth reference service to clients. The position also has primary responsibility for outreach and promoting the services/capabilities of the library.
