Qualifications:

A master's degree from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent. Proficiency in the use of library automated systems, information technology (including the Internet) and general computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc). One year experience in reference services, preferably in a health sciences library, including experience in online searching and library instruction. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Mature, professional manner. Ability to coordinate the work of others and provide leadership. Ability to interact well with health care professionals.

Responsibilities:

1. Under the direction of the Head, Health Sciences Libraries the WRHA librarian coordinates library outreach services of the UMHSL to Winnipeg Regional Health Authority staff.
2. Provides evidence-based literature searches and assists in the answering of clinical and health-policy questions.
3. Works with the WRHA Executive Director Research and Applied Learning to facilitate knowledge management in the Health Authority.
4. Coordinates delivery of UML documents, books, and other materials to WRHA staff in the Corporate Office upon request.
5. Maintains UMHSL internet page(s) dealing with WRHA library services. Cross-posts this information to the WRHA Intranet site.
